Footloose Youth Edition

This is a three-week camp open to students entering 6th grade through 18 years old.  Our production team works with students to develop an appropriate stage presence, hone vocal skills, increase dancing repertoire, and build a troupe of actors who respect each other and the arts.  The last Thursday and Friday are performance days with one matinee and one evening show each day in our state-of-the-art facility, complete with full sets, lighting, and costumes.

When Ren and his mother move from Chicago to a small farming town, he is prepared for the inevitable adjustment period at his new high school. What he isn’t prepared for are the rigorous local edicts, including a ban on dancing instituted by the local preacher, determined to exercise the control over the town’s youth that he cannot command in his own home. When the reverend’s rebellious daughter sets her sights on Ren, her roughneck boyfriend tries to sabotage Ren’s reputation, with many of the locals eager to believe the worst about the new kid. The heartfelt story that emerges is of a father longing for the son he lost and of a young man aching for the father who walked out on him.  Footloose celebrates the wisdom of listening to young people and guiding them with a warm heart and an open mind.

Camp is 8am-3pm Monday-Friday except the performance days which are the last Thursday and Friday of camp.  Camp hours performance days are  8am-11:30am and 5:30pm – 9pm.

Refunds will not be issued after May 15th under any circumstances.
